What is Relay For
Life?
Relay For Life is a community-based event designed to
celebrate survivorship and raise money for the American
Cancer Society. On the day of the event, teams of people
gather at school or community football fields, fairgrounds
or parks and take turns walking, jogging or running laps.
Each team is asked to keep at least one representative of
their team on the track at all times.
|
It's About Being A Community
Community Members from businesses, schools,
churches and organizations, in addition to cancer
survivors, their families and friends, come together
in teams of 8 to 15 people each at the Relay For
Life. At this unique overnight celebration
teams walk or run around the track relay-style for
the duration of the event, under the stars and
into the light!
|
Fund Raising
The
Relay For Life is also a fund-raising event. Each
team member is asked to raise a minimum of $100 from
donors before the event. To raise money, team
members solicit donations, and hold garage sales,
car washes and other fun-filled activities.
|
Who Participates?
Teams are organized by friends, relatives, local businesses,
hospitals, schools, churches, service clubs and other
organizations. Anyone can participate in the Relay For Life.

Victory Lap For Cancer Survivors
The American Cancer Society invites ALL cancer
survivors to unite at the Relay For Life for a group
victory lap against this dreaded disease. Team
